The Cyloom Stingher 25.5cm/2010 was created by craftsman Luca BH, a master flamer for several years. It is recognised by several marks, usually near the mouth of it (signature and vintage). As the title already describes, the length of this Cyloom Stingher is 25.5cm, created in the year 2010 and is third firing, its shape is eye-shaped, completely black with green geometric designs. Also included in the price is its black wooden case with secure closure and two black ceramic filters.

The Cyloom (also called chiloom, chilum, chillum, cilum) is certainly the oldest form of instrument used to inhale the fumes of combusted materials.

This is the predecessor of the pipe; being a kind of ‘horizontal pipe’ it does not possess a brazier and mouthpiece. It is a cone-shaped pipe, the classic material used to create them being clay, used since the 18th century by Hindu monks.

Using a Cyloom is the easiest way to smoke. It is a conical tube into which a ‘wedra’ stone is inserted, thus creating a brazier in which to insert the material to be smoked, usually a handkerchief is placed over the mouthpiece, usually called a saffi to allow better filtering and for hygienic reasons.

The filter stone, also known by the word ‘pedra’ or its slang derivative ‘wedra’. It is an easily removable object of polyhedral shape placed inside the structure of the Cyloom that performs the function of a filter. Usually the stone is of the same material as the main body of the Cyloom. From the size of the wedra you will also be able to tell how deep the brazier will be.
