Mike Tyson has launched his own cannabis brand: it is called Tyson 2.0 and is an evolution of the first brand launched on the market by the former US boxer in 2018. Here are all the details.
Mike Tyson and American cannabusiness
Mike Tyson is no stranger to the world of cannabis and is just one of the many U.S. stars to have joined the cannabusiness in recent years. As early as 2018, in fact, the American wrestler joined the five-pronged business by starting the Tyson Ranch in California, a 40-acre ranch dedicated to growing cannabis for the production of Iron Mike, the first brand of cannabis-dedicated products created by Tyson and renamed in honor of his many victories in the ring. Iron Mike is in fact one of the many nicknames given to the boxer during his sports career; among others “The Baddest Man on the Planet,” “Kid Dynamite,” and “King Kong.”
These projects were also joined in 2019 by Hotboxin‘ with Mike Tyson, a podcast-which now boasts more than 40 million listens-in which he himself interviews athletes, celebrities, and comedians while smoking his favorite products.
Tyson 2.0, the new company for which Tyson will cover the role of chief brand officer, wants to represent a step up from Iron Mike and wants to offer a wider range of products, from infusions to concentrates, from edibles to beverages. To bring the products to market, Tyson 2.0 is partnering with Columbia Care Inc. one of the country’s largest cannabis growers, producers and distributors, which will sell the product line using its network of contacts and retailers. So far, the company has raised $7 million in funding
